1. Who we are

ResumeBuilder101 is a service of Costryx LLC (collectively, “ResumeBuilder101,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies to resumebuilder101.com, its related pages, and the resume-building services available through them.

Questions or privacy requests may be sent to info@resumebuilder101.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Resume content. Information you enter into a resume, such as your name, contact details, employment history, education, skills, and job-target information.
  • Account information. If you create a ResumeBuilder101 account, we collect your name and email address. Your password is processed into a one-way cryptographic hash; we do not store it in readable form. We also process time-limited security tokens for email verification and password recovery.
  • Support communications. Information you include when you contact us.

Payment information

Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe receives the payment, billing, device, and transaction information needed to process your purchase and prevent fraud. ResumeBuilder101 does not receive or store your complete card number. We receive transaction identifiers, purchase status, subscription status, and limited customer details needed to provide paid access and support.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting, authentication, and security providers may automatically process technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, request times, referring pages, and security logs. We also use browser local storage to keep an anonymous user’s resume on that device, remember the local resume identifier, and track use of the included free export.

For signed-in accounts, we record limited product-usage events—such as opening the builder, selecting a template, saving a resume, exporting a file, and starting or completing checkout—along with the event time, account, and limited details such as the selected template or plan. These events do not contain keystrokes or the full text of your resume.

3. How resume storage works

If you build without signing in, your draft is stored in your browser’s local storage and is not intentionally uploaded to our account database. Clearing browser storage may remove that copy.

If you sign in and save, your resume content and account information are stored in our hosted database so you can access saved resumes and paid features. Your resume may contain sensitive information, so only include information you are comfortable storing and sharing with prospective employers.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide, save, personalize, and improve the resume-building service;
  • authenticate accounts and synchronize saved resumes;
  • process purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and billing support;
  • protect the service, prevent fraud, diagnose errors, and enforce our terms;
  • understand feature use, measure purchases, and improve the customer experience;
  • respond to support and privacy requests; and
  • comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use resume content to advertise to you.

5. When we disclose information

We may disclose information to:

  • OpenAI / ChatGPT Sites, which provides site hosting, database infrastructure, and related security services;
  • Resend, which delivers account verification, password recovery, and other transactional service emails;
  • Stripe, which provides Checkout, subscription billing, payment processing, customer billing tools, and fraud prevention;
  • professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, prevent harm, investigate misuse, or establish and defend legal claims; and
  • a successor organization in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate protections.

These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy notices. See OpenAI’s Privacy Policy and Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain account and saved-resume information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service. We may retain limited billing, fraud-prevention, support, and legal records for longer when required by law or necessary to resolve disputes and enforce agreements.

You may request deletion of your cloud-saved resumes and account information by emailing info@resumebuilder101.com from the address connected to your account. Local browser copies must be removed through your browser settings. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

7. Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to appeal our response. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Submit a request to info@resumebuilder101.com. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization and identity verification.

Do Not Track and opt-out signals

Because ResumeBuilder101 does not use cross-site behavioral advertising, it does not currently respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Where legally required and technically applicable, we will honor recognized universal opt-out preference signals.

8. Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate, subject to their legal and contractual safeguards.

9. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can address it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date. If a change materially affects how we use previously collected personal information, we will provide additional notice when required.
